For three decades, Gib has published timely articles about sustainability - starting before the term was commonly used.

The Climate Story Cover

Climate information is everywhere. We are burdened by opinions but confused and conflicted – growth or sustainability?

The Climate Story is a logical, data-rich summary for busy executives. The 8-step summary will place the current climate situation in concrete business terms so that executives can engage leadership, make smart decisions and drive sustainable growth. The story helps explain how we got here and the likely trends we will see if we do not act to build a climate resilient, sustainable future.

The ESG Navigator Handbook is the C-suite "pocket guide" to ESG and sustainability.

  • The full view of sustainability: E + S + G + Strategy, including the four-stage maturity path - telling you what fair, good, better, and best look like.

  • 100 KPIs (which we call Key Sustainability Indicators - or KSIs) that define actions, processes, structures and programs a companies have created or aim to create to capture business value from ESG.

The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) featured Transforming Board ESG Oversight as the cover story in its Winter 2022 issue. I was honored to co-author the piece with Paul Camuti, EVP Technology and Sustainability at Trane Technologies.

The Conference Board published Beware the 80-20 Governance TRap: Focus on the "G" in ESG during the era when ESG ratings occupied considerable attention of corporate leaders.

The article pointed out the serious flaws of all ESG ratings and rankings.

The Conference Board published Navigating the Sustainability Transformation to highlight actions of early leaders globally. At the time, companies including Unilever, Orsted, Neste, Novelis, Ingersoll Rand (today Trane Technologies) were well along in their transformation paths.

When NACD published Gib's short article, Environmental Oversight: Eye of the Storm, few companies took sustainability seriously. Yet this article, published 10 years after the Rio Earth Summit launched the global sustainability movement, provided a glimpse of what's ahead.
